Old Hickory is a section of metropolitan Nashville named in honor of President Andrew Jackson who nickname was “Old Hickory”. It is a medium-sized city with a population of around 10,000 and has seen a significant amount of newer housing growth in recent years.
Overall, Old Hickory is a city of sales and office workers, professionals and managers. Many of the houses in Old Hickory Village were built to house DuPont employees and supervisors in the early days of the factory’s existence. Old Hickory Lake provides a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities for millions of visitors each year.
